THA Serves Community During Pandemic
Thomaston Housing Authority has been making strides all summer to keep the community safe during the pandemic. Executive Director Patricia Allen has been proactive in ordering PPE gear and supplies not only for her staff but the residents. In order to get these supplies out to the residents safely, the office staff took to the pavement and hand delivered safety packets to each household. Every resident 2 years and older received a safety packet complete with a mask, sanitizing gel packets and gloves.
Serving the community is not easy during a pandemic. With the help of great partners in the community and across the state of Georgia, THA has been able to continue to service its residents in a major way. Upson County Health Department partnered with THA to provide Free COVID-19 testing on all three property sites. Almost 100 people total were able to be tested.
Turkey Creek Skins made a huge donation of pork skins at the beginning of the summer. Those bags of skins for were included in the PPE deliveries for each resident to enjoy.
Ken Nugent Law Firm donated 600 masks to THA and Upson County Health Department to assist in efforts to mitigate the coronavirus.
