THA HomeWork Academy

The Thomaston Housing Authority thrives on making a positive impact in the lives of the children and families of our communities.  Therefore, the HomeWork Academy (after school) Program was created and provided in Triune Village and Lincoln Park Circle communities.  The key goal of the program is to provide homework assistance and activities to elementary, middle and high school students that will enhance the educational and life skills level; whether its comprehension, mathematics science or decision making.  We are so proud of our children who participate in our programs.

Summer Enrichment Program 2016

The Thomaston Housing Authority strive to keep our children busy throughout the entire year.  A small part is making sure they are active throughout the summer.  We have orchestrated field trips to the Georgia Aquarium & The World of Coke (provided by a sponsor), we have exercise time, the kids play basketball, some of our youth attended the GAHRA Youth Leadership Conference in St. Simons, GA.  We host the Summer Feeding Program in the Community Room located at the main office.  We are grateful to Home Depot for coming and donating supplies and spending time teaching our children how to build different gadgets that can be used around the house.  Education is huge part of the program and the vision we have embodied at the THA!

Father's Day Initiative 2016

To honor our “fathers” some of the residents donated their time, preparation, and food for a very nice dinner for our Father’s Day Initiative Program.

THA Children's Garden 2016

To teach a child how to plant a seed or a plant, to help them keep the plants healthy, and to teach them how to harvest….is an investment that will never be forgotten.  The smiles that shines on their faces are priceless.  This is a healthy part of education that is beneficial to the health and well-being of lessons well learned in hopes that we can teach our families how to eat healthy and enjoy the freshness of fruits and vegetables grown by their own hands.
